Ontario has some pretty serious challenges which are felt right here at home in Cambridge -

  • a provincial deficit that sits at 18.7 billion and grows daily as the government spends more than it earns
  • health-care costs that are growing at an unsustainable rate and an aging population
  • collapse of strength in manufacturing resulting in job losses and factory closures forcing a transition to new ventures and a knowledge-based economy
  • unsustainable rising hydro prices which demand solutions – balance between sustainable and
    affordable energy

All families in Cambridge, and Ontario, deserve to live in the province with the best hospitals, the best schools, the best economy and best roads in all of Canada.  Cambridge and the Region of Waterloo are a key player in the economic hopes for the future.  In cooperation with municipal leaders and provincial leaders, Andrew Johnson, would fight for sustainable and practical ideas that will raise our city’s profile and put our province back on track so that families can once again count on world class jobs, opportunities and services

Andrew will be part of a team that will:

Grow small business and create more jobs – by reducing the tax and regulatory burden (red tape) on business owners and employers and see more private sector jobs and opportunities emerge

Control the size of government – through fiscal discipline that regularly assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of government programs and services and respects how much Ontario families already pay

Restore people’s confidence in how government works – setting new standards and safeguards that will improve transparency and delivery of services

Create balance between sustainable and affordable energy by giving people more choices and restoring local leaders as the decision-makers for green energy initiatives

Cambridge Special! – Support the elimination of LHIN’s which will put more money back into front-line health care so that projects like Cambridge Memorial Hospital can finally be completed
